More than 50% of Mumbai's population lives on the streets and slums. Many of them keep stray dogs as pets which are free roaming. Most of the photos of street dogs posted on this blog are of those that are being looked after by a host of Mumbaikars...be it hawkers, rag pickers, security guards, slum and street dwellers, shop-keepers, societies, housing colonies, laborers, restaurants, schools, colleges, policemen and maybe even by you. Else you might be able to identify some of these dogs from your neighborhood or locality. Search and you might just find a photo of one of the street dogs that lives in your area.
